Terms of use

These terms apply to everyone who uses We Are Hiring at wearehiring.ca. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. Free service

Searching jobs, applying, creating resumes and posting jobs is free. Employers can choose to pay for optional extras, such as featured listings (section 6).

2. Accounts

You must give accurate information and keep your password safe. You are responsible for activity on your account.
If you sign in with Google, Facebook or LinkedIn, you also follow that provider's terms.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

3. Job seekers

Your resumes and applications must be truthful and must be your own.
When you apply, you agree that we share your application and the resume you chose with that employer.
Only resumes you mark as visible can be found by employers in resume search.

4. Employers

Post only real, current, lawful job openings for your own company or a client you are authorised to represent.
Jobs must follow Canadian employment standards and human-rights law. Do not discriminate on protected grounds, such as race, religion, sex, age, disability or family status.
Never ask applicants for money, bank details, or ID numbers before a real job offer. No pyramid schemes, "pay to work" offers or fake jobs.
Use applicants' information only for hiring for that job, keep it secure, and do not sell it or send marketing to it.
Interview times, addresses and links you give must be accurate.
We review job postings and may edit, reject or remove any posting.

5. Company reviews

Reviews must be honest and based on your own experience as an employee, former employee, applicant or interviewee.
No personal attacks, names or personal information of individuals, confidential business information, hate, harassment or fake reviews. Employers may not write or pay for reviews of their own company or competitors.
We may check reviews before they appear and may remove any review. Companies can post one public reply to each review.

6. Featured listings and payments

A featured listing shows a job at the top of search results and in the featured section for the number of days you buy. Prices are shown before you pay, in the currency displayed, plus any applicable taxes.
Payments are processed by Stripe or PayPal. Their terms also apply. We do not store your card details.
Featuring starts when payment is confirmed. It ends automatically after the paid period, or earlier if the job expires, is filled, or is removed for breaking these terms.
Refunds: if featuring does not start because of an error on our side, we will refund you. Featured days already used are not refundable. If a job is removed for breaking these terms, unused days are not refunded. For billing questions, contact us within 30 days.
Featuring does not guarantee a number of views, applications or hires.

7. Jobs from partner networks and advertising

Some listings come from partner job networks, and the site shows ads and affiliate links. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, products or hiring decisions.

8. Acceptable use

Do not scrape or copy the site in bulk, send spam, upload viruses, try to break security, impersonate anyone, or use the site for anything illegal.

9. Content you post

You keep ownership of what you post. You give us permission to host, show and share it as needed to run the site (for example, showing your job ad or sending your application to an employer).

10. No guarantee and limit of liability

The site is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that any job, employer or candidate is genuine, suitable or available, and we are not part of any hiring decision. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Changes and law

We may update these terms and will change the date above. These terms are governed by the laws of Canada and of the province where we operate.
